A peninsula cut off from the rest of the continent by a large, imposing mountain is home to an unusual assortment of creatures. There are of course the typical squirrels, song birds, deer, foxes, and such creatures comfortable in the evergreen forests and peaceful meadows...but among these familiar animals are unfamiliar, and often unfriendly things that speak in riddles, lurk in glass-like lakes, and hunt silently in the night. The hostile nature of the fauna here would make it logical for the peninsula to be uninhabited by mankind, and yet along the shores and nestled into cozy valleys are small villages where people are thriving. This is possible due to the domestication of one fearsome creature- the Gryphon.
